The need is growing, and so are we.

You can help us connect more Kiwis experiencing homelessness and hardship with free laundry and hot showers.

The rising cost of living is hitting our community hard.

More and more of our neighbours, friends and whanau are struggling to make ends meet and finding themselves in challenging situations they never could have imagined.

Back in 2018, there were 41,600 Kiwis counted as experiencing homelessness on Census night. With the cost of living crisis, we know the latest figures will be much higher. These aren't just statistics; they represent real people in our communities.

As the need grows, so does our determination to meet it head-on. But we can't do it without you.

You can give practical support that makes a huge difference - a hot shower, clean laundry and genuine korero.

This year, we will be launching new services to offer more clean laundry and hot showers to meet the growing need in our community.

But to reach everyone who need us, we need your help.

Join us in expanding our reach across the motu

Now supporting friends in Porirua

On February 12, we extended our Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) service to Porirua. Working together with Te Runanga O Toa Rangatira and the Porirua City Council, our van and volunteers are now supporting the community every Monday.

Auckland City Mission Indoor Laundromat

Launching in February, this central laundromat will provide essential laundry services right in the heart of Tamaki Makaurau. Thanks to our collaboration with Auckland City Mission, this will be our first internal laundromat.

Laundry Pod in Te Tonga o Tamaki Makaurau

To be welcomed in March, an innovative laundry pod will support the South Auckland community, equipped with everything needed for clean clothes and korero. Together with a local service provider we will provide for those doing it tough.

New van in Te Matau-a-Maui

Come July, we're introducing our sixth van in Aotearoa. The newest member of the Orange Sky fleet will call Hawkes Bay home. This will be the first service on the East Coast and will meet the essential and growing needs of the Hawkes Bay community.

More clean clothes, more showers, more conversations - it all starts with your help.

Our mission remains as clear and compelling as ever: to provide a laundry and shower service but also genuine korero and connection to those doing it tough. Your support is crucial, empowering us to not only maintain but expand our reach.

Recently, we heard from Esau, one of the friends who visits our shift in Tamaki Makaurau. His words were simple, but they hit home. Esau told us.

“I came to the city, and I was homeless. Trying to find somewhere to stay was hard. I had to try to find somewhere that was dry.”

Thanks to incredible people like you, Orange Sky was there. Esau was able to have a shower and clean his clothes. Esau says,

“It’s made my life on the streets a lot easier to live. And if it’s helped me, it’s probably helped a few others as well, so I appreciate the service that’s there for us. Thank you for Orange Sky.”

Esau's experience highlights the difference we make together. It reminds us all why we are so deeply committed to this cause.

Your support will help us grow our reach across the motu and be there for many more friends like Esau.

Your support will help us reach more Kiwis across Aotearoa

Your generosity allows us to keep our vans running, our washers spinning, and most importantly, keep conversations flowing — conversations that might be the only ones friends have all day.

But we want to do more. We want to reach more people, offer more showers, more clean clothes, and more moments of genuine connection.

In these tough times, your generosity allows us to keep growing, reaching, and supporting more Kiwis experiencing homelessness and hardship.

Please, will you make a generous gift today? Your koha can make a huge difference.
